A New Song

(KJV) Psalm 96:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song:

sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name;

shew forth his salvation from day to day.

3 Declare his glory among the heathen,

his wonders among all people.

4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised:

he is to be feared above all gods.

It is not unusual for me to sing hymns from my youth, songs of which I never grow tired. But one day we will sing a new song, and while I can hardly imagine either the lyrics or the music of such a song, I believe it will be inherent in my very being. There will be no need for sheet music for the song will emanate from my very soul.

How great is that? Whether in unison or harmony, I imagine all of Heaven singing a song that has never yet been heard. And I know the praise will echo through the streets as we, finally unencumbered by the cares of this world, glorify His name now and forever.

May we prepare even now by keeping our hearts and our minds focused on the One, True and Living God.

In the name of the Father, and of the son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
