Majesty, worship His Majesty

(NIV) Psalm 19

For the director of music. A psalm of David.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

2 Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they reveal knowledge.

3 They have no speech, they use no words;

no sound is heard from them.

4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world.

Today we witnessed the utter majesty of God. The sun that He placed in the skies was momentarily blocked from exuding both its light and its warmth by the moon. The moon, a lesser body that has no light of its own, but reflects the light of the sun! Yet, it passed between the earth and the sun at exactly the right time, the right angle and we, in Little Rock, experienced a total eclipse.

We watched as the sun seemed to shrink from that huge ball to an ever-growing crescent until the only thing visible was a black circle surrounded by a crown of light. The skies grew dark, the temperature dropped and the glory of God shone through.

And all I can say is, Praise God from Whom all blessings flow…

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
